Blue Snowball Microphone Review
For my video making, I used the one microphone in the house. No one really used it so it was fine for me to use it full time. And I have to say, I loved the microphone so much that it should have a dedicated blog post all about it. So get ready for this blog post of me reviewing my mic.
Firstly, as it says in the title the mic is the Blue Snowball. It uses USB to plug in and it sells for an affordable price, about 60 dollars Canadian. At first, when I started using it I felt like it was cheap quality and I should get a different mic. But that was when I just started video making. You see, I thought this because of all the background and static noise. This really bugged me a lot and made me cringe watching my videos. But then I found some great solutions.
Obviously, the first thing you could do to stop background noise is to not have it in the first place. Close the door and windows make sure everyone is silent and that should take care of most noises for free. Though for example, the laptop fans make a lot of noise sometimes and you can’t stop it. To fix this try putting an ice pack on the laptop for a few minutes and start recording. The fans turn in the first place to cool the device down. Now if that is not an option for you then maybe it’s time to look at some products. The products I am talking about are called Mic Blimps. They come in different shapes and sizes and block noises. For example, I found a blimp meant for the blue snowball and it’s literally a furball that you put on the mic. I find that combining all these solutions reduce background noises to a minimum.
After all of my uses with this mic, I changed my mind about it and loved it. Now, whenever I need to use the mic I use it. Imagine my tutorials without voice!
